Note: This book was published by W.E.I.R.D., the first Residents fan club.  The 1979 edition was an edition of 500 copies, red cover.  The 1981 printing was an edition of 750 copies, yellow cover. It was later edited and expanded and re-published as "The Cryptic Guide To The Residents" in 1986, see below.

Note: Twelve comics were made by Matt Howarth in consultation with The Residents from 1982 onwards including a special edition made for the Mole Show. They were published jointly by Matt Howarth's own company, Howski Studios and Ralph Records. They were subsequently reprinted monthly in 1996 over a period of six months; each issue contained two consecutive original issues. The Residents feature in several other of Howarth's publications including The Contaminated Zone (3), Savage Henry (2, 5, 6, 18, 19 & 20) and Stalking Ralph.

Note: This book profiles The Residents' career up to the middle of 1986. The collectors' edition of 500 numbered copies featured a glow-in-the-dark silk screened cover printed on fluorescent paper stock and contained the 1-sided single "Earth Vs. The Flying Saucers". The regular edition of 1500 copies of this book has a three different coloured covers (500 each of yellow, pink and light green) and no single.
