Welcome
Within these galleries you can study artifacts from the Residents' long history. Happy browsing and don't touch!
About the museum
In 2000 we had the idea to make an online ‘museum’ of Residents props and scraps. Naturally, we couldn't agree how this was to be done, so it sat on the back burner for a year. In 2001 we decided that a virtual museum might make a fitting tribute to 30 years of The Residents. We thought about a cake, but this seemed better.
The virtual museum will hold several permanent exhibitions and also host new exhibitions whenever the images of other collections are donated. So expect more galleries in the future.
Please do not ask us about the ownership of any of these items, because we won't tell. However we will try our best to find out as much as possible and update the exhibit descriptions accordingly.
The Moles, June 2002.

The Residents' Virtual Museum would not have been possible without the help of the people who provided the images and the stories behind them.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who helped with this project especially Peter Knoettner, Brian Karasick, Matt Howarth, Jade Dellinger, Arjan Henskens, Kim Andrews, Tax Liaskas, Nic Lawson and several shy (but very generous) people — you know who you are.
